Jackson Chourio singled home two runs with two outs in the ninth inning Sunday, turning a 3–2 deficit into a 4–3 Brewers victory over the Padres in NLDS Game 2. Milwaukee leads the best-of-five series 2–0 after winning both games at American Family Field by one run.
The Brewers entered the ninth with only four hits. Mason Miller had retired all three batters in the eighth, striking out Brice Turang and Jake Bauers before getting William Contreras to fly out. He returned needing three more outs to protect San Diego's lead.
Garrett Mitchell grounded out to begin the ninth. Christian Yelich then walked and stole second, and Sal Frelick drew another walk. Pinch-hitter Andrew Vaughn flew to center, leaving Milwaukee one out from defeat. Gary Sánchez's full-count walk loaded the bases, and Joey Ortiz replaced him as a pinch-runner.
