Cincinnati’s top receivers remain uncertain for Sunday. Higgins is questionable, while Chase still needs concussion clearance.

Ja’Marr Chase remains in concussion protocol, and Tee Higgins will be questionable for Cincinnati’s game at Miami on Sunday. Head coach Zac Taylor gave the Friday updates, the NFL reported.
The announcement leaves quarterback Joe Burrow waiting for clarity on his two established receiving targets as the Bengals prepare for the road game. Chase’s practice participation does not establish that he has cleared concussion protocol.
Cincinnati’s official injury report, last updated Thursday when reviewed for this article, lists Higgins with groin and neck injuries. He missed both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices. Chase did not participate Wednesday and was limited Thursday.

Higgins heads toward Sunday with two missed practices, while Chase has resumed limited work. Neither development settles whether Burrow will have both receivers available in Miami.
There has been progress elsewhere in the receiving group. Rookie Colbie Young, who has a knee injury, went from limited participation Wednesday to full participation Thursday, according to the team report. Full practice is encouraging, but it does not guarantee that he will be active Sunday.
The same report shows starting safety Bryan Cook limited Thursday after sitting out Wednesday with an ankle injury. The final report remains relevant beyond the two headline receivers.
Cincinnati is 2-2 and Miami is 0-4 in the NFL’s Friday update. The Bengals have not yet confirmed that Chase or Higgins will be available to help Burrow in that matchup.
