  • Atlanta beat Philadelphia 5-2 on Friday night in the opener of a four-game series at Citizens Bank Park. The official MLB game feed credits Mauricio Dubón with a two-run home run and Ronald Acuña Jr. with three hits as the Braves took the first result in an NL East series with playoff weight.

The game was decided early: Atlanta scored three runs in the second inning and added two more in the eighth. Philadelphia answered with one run in the second and one in the fourth, but Atlanta's pitching held the lead through the final five innings.
