  • Philadelphia turned a close game into a 6-4 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday, using a late three-run eighth inning and Brandon Marsh's three RBIs to beat the Brewers at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies answered each Milwaukee push and scored the final three runs after the game was tied 3-3.

  • Marsh started the scoring in the second with an opposite-field homer that also brought Bryson Stott home. Alec Bohm doubled home Trea Turner in the third, giving Philadelphia a 3-0 lead before Milwaukee's William Contreras supplied a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Contreras then singled in the sixth to score David Hamilton and Jackson Chourio, bringing the Brewers level at 3.

  • The eighth inning separated the teams. Stott's single to center scored Luis Arraez and Bohm, and an error on Garrett Mitchell allowed Stott to take second. Marsh followed with a double off the wall, scoring Stott and restoring a three-run Philadelphia lead. Marsh finished 2-for-4 with the homer, double, two runs and three RBIs. Stott went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and two RBIs, while Bohm added two hits and an RBI.

  • Zack Wheeler gave Philadelphia 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out 11. He struck out seven straight Brewers during one stretch, then the Phillies' bullpen covered the final 3 1/3 innings. José Alvarado earned the win and Jhoan Duran recorded the save after Milwaukee scored once in the ninth on Luis Lara's single.

The Brewers had six hits and received a three-RBI night from Contreras, but they could not turn the 3-3 tie into a lead. Colton Gordon took the loss after allowing three runs, two earned, in five innings. Philadelphia finished with eight hits and made its biggest offensive inning arrive after Milwaukee had recovered from the early deficit.

  • The result gave the Phillies a home win against the National League's top team in a game shaped by Marsh's power, Wheeler's strikeout total and a decisive eighth-inning defensive mistake.
