Bill Murray and Tom Coyne turn an Irish golf trip into a road story in the new trailer for A Course Called Ireland. The six-part documentary series premieres on Paramount+ on Sunday, October 25, following the actor, the golf writer and a changing group of companions through Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The attraction is the company as much as the courses. Paramount's October 8 announcement names Murray's brothers Joel and John, Chris O'Dowd, Joanne McNally and Jason Kelce among the guests. Each episode runs 30 minutes, giving the journey room for conversations and detours alongside the golf.
A book's walking adventure becomes a group trip
Coyne's book, A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee, supplies the inspiration. In the trailer, he describes the original journey as four months spent walking 1,100 miles and playing Ireland's links. This television version brings Murray and friends into that adventure.

The trailer keeps interrupting the golf with jokes, music and travel mishaps. Its dialogue moves from questions about whether someone is a golfer or a caddie to Coyne explaining the book, then to friends enjoying the trip together. The game provides a reason to gather; the exchanges between the travelers give the preview its rhythm.

Read source ↗ The contrast is useful for a golf audience. A course can be memorable because of its holes, but a trip also acquires its character through the people playing them. This preview makes that second part central, with Murray's humor sharing the space normally occupied by a destination's scenery or a golfer's swing.
The release plan varies by territory
Paramount says the October 25 premiere applies globally outside Latin America and the United Kingdom. In the UK, the series will air through BBC Two, BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer. The announcement does not give a Latin American release date.
Golf Today's Simon Bale reports an October 23 arrival on BBC iPlayer and BBC One Northern Ireland, followed by BBC Two on October 25. Viewers should use the listing for their own service rather than assume the Paramount+ date applies everywhere.
Skydance Sports and Stellify Media produced the series, with Chris Cottam directing. Paramount describes its material as candid and unscripted. Bale notes that the courses have not yet been named, so the trailer offers a sense of the journey without supplying a complete playing itinerary.
For now, the specific promise is a six-part golf adventure with two recognizable companions. The full series will determine how much of Coyne's original travel story survives the move from a solitary walking journey to Murray's crowded road trip.
