Deonte Banks returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown on the final play as the New York Giants beat the Arizona Cardinals 36-24 Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Jameis Winston threw three touchdown passes, and the Giants improved to 3-1 despite committing three turnovers of their own.
Arizona reached the Giants’ 4-yard line with a chance to erase a 30-24 deficit. Banks’ pass-interference penalty had helped put the Cardinals there, but three incompletions left Jacoby Brissett facing fourth down. Banks intercepted the final throw intended for Michael Wilson at the New York 2 and ran the length of the field as time expired.
The Giants had created that six-point margin with Dominic Zvada’s 52-yard field goal at 2:11. A punt gave New York the ball at midfield, and Cam Skattebo carried five times during the ensuing possession. The drive consumed 2:36 before Zvada converted, requiring Arizona to answer with a touchdown on its final series.

The finish followed several changes in control. Winston then connected with Malik Nabers for a 25-yard score to put New York ahead. Chad Ryland answered with a 60-yard field goal as the first half expired, and the Giants entered halftime leading 19-17. Brissett’s 2-yard pass to Elijah Higgins restored Arizona’s lead in the third quarter before Winston hit Theo Johnson from 11 yards out. Najee Harris’ two-point run made it 27-24.
Winston completed 18 of 29 passes for 250 yards with two interceptions. Nabers caught six passes for 112 yards, while Isaiah Likely made seven catches for 66 yards on 12 targets. Fields contributed 52 receiving yards on two catches. Skattebo led New York’s ground game with 18 carries for 58 yards.
Brissett went 21 of 35 for 166 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Greg Newsome II and Arvell Reese supplied New York’s other picks.
