Caleb Williams left the Bears' 9-3 loss to Minnesota with a hamstring injury Sunday, adding a major question to a game Chicago already struggled to finish. Williams went down while scrambling on first-and-goal in the fourth quarter, was helped to the sideline and was then carted to the locker room.
Bears coach Ben Johnson told reporters afterward that he did not yet know the severity. Johnson said Williams was in good spirits, and the quarterback's status will be clearer after further evaluation. The NFL's report said Tyson Bagent would be in line to start if Williams misses extended time.
Chicago's offense managed only three points and 218 total yards. The Bears reached the Vikings' 1-yard line before D'Andre Swift fumbled, and a potential game-tying field goal was blocked after Williams left. Bagent completed four passes for 53 yards and moved the Bears to the Minnesota 12 before Dallas Turner sacked him on fourth down.
