  • Dallas forward Cooper Flagg was named 2025-26 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year on April 27, 2026. He finished ahead of former Duke teammate Kon Knueppel of Charlotte by 26 voting points, the second-closest ROTY margin since 2002-03.

In 70 games Flagg averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals, leading all rookies in scoring. NBA PR said he joined Michael Jordan as the only rookies since steals were tracked (1973-74) to lead their own team in total points (1,473), rebounds (466), assists (316), and steals (84). He was the second-youngest ROTY at 19 years, 112 days as of April 12, behind only LeBron James.
