The Bears made four roster moves Tuesday as they began adjusting the team for Monday night's game against Philadelphia. Chicago signed long snapper Scott Daly to the active roster and defensive back Nick McCloud to the practice squad, while waiving long snapper Beau Gardner and releasing offensive lineman Kyle Hergel from the practice squad.
The moves were announced by the team on Sept. 22. Daly's addition changes the team's active long-snapping personnel, while McCloud gives the practice squad another defensive-back option during the week of preparation for the Eagles.
Four moves before Philadelphia
Daly is the only player in the announcement moving directly onto the active roster. Gardner, the long snapper previously occupying that roster spot, was waived. McCloud joins the practice squad, and Hergel was released from it.

The transaction report does not announce a starting-lineup change or connect the moves to the quarterback situation. Chicago's quarterback status remains a separate story after Caleb Williams was listed as week to week with a hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent entered concussion protocol.
Monday's game against the Eagles is at Soldier Field. The four transactions give the Bears a small personnel reset before the next injury report and the final preparations for Week 3.
